I knock........one rap of three times........twice now.......a third leaves my fist hanging in the air in front of her evil grin.
"What the hell happened to you?" Her smile increased as she asked this. "I got hit by a car, now move." I pushed her arm out of the way, her apartment being warmer than I remembered it. Flowing over the staircase up to her room, I didn't hesitate to look for something stranger than usual. The walls were paper thin and the sound of a band playing next door set the mood. "THE GREAT IRONY", the only good thing about the thin walls was that they could be heard clearly.
"Auxi, what is this???" I slammed the card down on the bedside table and invited her to sit with me (big mistake). "Its what we've been waiting for....."
Smoke rolled over her red lips and the freshly lit cigarette seemed to snarl at it's own deadly function. She came closer, her hand on my face, skin alert to the air around me. Another puff of the cancer stick and a kiss. The smoke filled what peace of mind was left.
She was empty...
Like me ...
for once I believed secrets could be revealed, and that a touch couldn't hurt the ones I love. Her form seemed strange but inviting, warm and yet cold to my passion. Amazing, another puff, her eyes, my attention left her hand but I saw it clear enough. The music increased pace from the other side and she didn't skip a beat. Her hand released the blaze as she forced me to the center of the bed.
Flames seem to only burn when you’re not in Hell, funny, we were freezing at that exact moment.......
